Kensington in Crisis
This documentary explores many aspects of the opioid crisis in the Kensington region of Philadelphia combining interviews with subject matter experts, addicts, and crisis responders with gritty video captured on the street in the heart of the crisis.
The soundtrack for the film, "Songs From A Rehab," from the musical project Gigi Nadine, was produced and performed by addicts in recovery. The song lyrics artfully interact with the films interview subjects, expressing the emotional journey suffered by the addicts themselves.
This film won the PhillyCAM® Community Responder Award in 2019, and a Silver Telly® Award in 2020.
